This high-quality Swedish fid is designed for splicing larger 3-strand and 8-strand ropes (ideally suited to 16mm and larger). Constructed from durable stainless steel with a smooth wooden end plug held in by 2 screws, the tapered design facilitates easy rope splicing. It effectively opens gaps in the rope to allow strands to pass through before removing the fid.
