Made to Order in a Week
Description

2-piece Bermudan mast complete with shrouds and halyards. This mast includes everything you need for it to be swapped for your current mast and gaff, while you continue using your current boom and in most cases you can continue using your current sails.

It gives you the advantages of the old gaff and mast setup when derigged, since the spars still fit into the boat when seperated.

And when rigged you get the advantages of a 1 piece mast.

Alloy mast with external track, the top section sleeves inside the lower and are secured with a bolt through the hounds.

Can be rigged with a spinnaker and please contact us to discuss your requirements

Customer Questions
Hi Nigel If the purpose of the request is to determine whether the mast will fit into a boat like the traditional gunter rig then the answer is it will. Otherwise the measurements are very similar. Many thanks David

Hi TedI'm sorry to hear about your back. The goosneck height is a measurement within the class rules 5.1.6 The distance between the bottom end of the mast and the top edge of the boom shall be669mm ± 10mm. There is nothing stopping you from changing this and sailing out of class but that would be for you to organiseI hope that is some helpDavid

Hi Norman thanks for your enquiry, the mast is not supplied with a Burgee Holder however you can follow the link to buy a Burgee Holder to attach to the top of the mast http://www.tridentuk.com/gb/product-burgee-flag-clips-al-a4066.html Hope this helps.

Hi KevinIt depends what you want fitted? For a halyard block £30You could transfer everything else from your existing mast. If not let us know what other fittings you want or what sort of spinnaker system you have or want and we'll price it for youRegardsDavid

Hi BrunoThe top section of the 2 piece mast is not tapered but is of a smaller diameter than the lower section. It is difficult to answer you question accurately without seeing it in action for the following reasons. 1. Part of the reason the Mirror class changed from wooden spars was because it was getting increasingly difficult to manufacture and keep spars straight, another reason was every spar supplied had different characteristics in weight and how and where it bent, this wasn't through the manufacturing process but due to the piece of wood and how and where the tree grew etc. 2. As the mirror mast doesn't have spreaders it can and will bend in any direction. The top part will also bend but I doubt it bends the same as your gaff. Unless you are very light for the Mirror then a flexible top section is not going to do you any favours - why do you need to de-power the sail in gusts? and why do you want the rig to decide when to de-power?  3. When rigged correctly the gunter rigged Mirror should be the same as a Bermudan rig as the lacing to the mast follows the luff as it exits the gaff. Not a straight answer sorry but then in sailing there seldom is but I hope it's helpfulRegardsDavid

Hi Oliver I race with a two piece mast and don't have any issues with the mast or sail shape. We haven't done a pure like on like comparison but I have in the past done some two boat tuning against a one piece mast on a different hull with different sails and had no performance issues plus off the water I do like the fact that I can move the boat about without worrying about what to do with a long mast Regards David

Hi Olly A block would fix to the top mast just above the hounds for the spinnaker halyard and an eye would fit to the lower mast just below where the top section comes for the pole uphaul Regards David

This does have an external track and the top and bottom masts fit together to make a Bermudan mast Regards David

Hi Richard We have changed the specification slightly to include track feeders and there is a rivet at the head and at the tack. We have also included a check in production to ensure the tracks line up Regards David

Hi Will Yes the shrouds and forestay attach to the lower mast so you could just fly the jib off it. You may find that the main is easy enough to put up and down without the gaff and row it with the full mast up Regards David

Hi Will It is very likely that your main will slide straight on. The only problem we have come across are when the lacing eyelets have been put in too close to the luff and they catch in the track, these can sometimes be hammered flatter and sometimes they need to be removed which you could do yourself and get a sailmaker to tidy up later or hand it over to a sailmaker to do, we can help with this if you post it to us Regards David
