Hi Colin The transom ply is one piece only. The kit comprises of the ply, top hardwood beam, riser to hold the aft deck and internal pad to take the screws for the lower pintle fixing. The ply only can be bought on it's own if required. Many thanks David
Hi RichardWe do, the hardwood beam with number stamped in is £40.We don't sell it online as I can't imagine replacing it without replacing the plywood as wellRegardsDavid
Hi Richard, you could but it would probably cost more than buying the complete kit as it would need to be treated as a bespoke item. David
Hi depending on where you live but if you are on the UK mainland excluding highlands price delivered is £43.20. If you order £100 of parts the delivery will be free.
Hi Andy That's the first time I've heard of outboards breaking transoms but with a boat built by an amateur 50 years ago anything is possible, how you drive and in what conditions will also have some bearing on this. The best way I have come across fitting an outboard to a Mirror is two pieces of ply with material between the two to hinge the material over the top of the transom. The ply spreads the load, stops the metal scratching the paint/varnish and you can tighten well slightly compressing the wood to help prevent the outboard vibrating loose. That is my experience and Kevin sounds very experienced in these matters An inspection hatch in the tanks is an okay thing to have as you can then see what's going on, get any water out and leave them open when not in use to help air the tanks I hope that helps Regards David
