The Laser 4000, 4 tonner, L4K and now just 4000 is a skiff type racing dinghy crewed by two persons with trapeze for the crew and trampolines for the helm. The 4000 has a one-design weight-equalised system enabling physically differing sailors to compete on a level playing field. With a fully battened main and jib the asymmetric spinnaker has a gybing pole which can help sail a greater downwind angle, its open self draining cockpit and well thought out fittings the boat is easy to sail and are well built.
