Mounted on the mast head it enables the helmsman to accurately judge the angle of the apparent wind on Optimists.
Made specifically for the Optimist, this Hawk has a stronger vane-arm which is accurately balanced and is amazingly sensitive. It has a wider and longer shaft so that it fits into the Optiparts penant holders and has suitable clearance above the sail.
The vane arm is attached to the needle with a new positive locking system which prevents loosing the vane arm.
